Born in Brooklyn, New York, but having spent most of my life in California, storytelling has always been a part of who I am.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, but having spent most of my life in California, storytelling has always been a part of who I am. At just seven years old, I wrote my first “novel,” sparking a lifelong passion for writing. Throughout high school and college, I was actively involved in journalism, contributing to school newspapers and later spending nearly a decade working for local newspapers and trade magazines before transitioning into the field of education.
Though writing remained a constant in my life, it wasn’t until recently that I decided to share my work with the world. Today, I live in San Diego with my husband and two kids, balancing my career in education while continuing to pursue my passion for writing.
Over the years, I’ve been recognized for my work, winning an essay contest in high school and receiving a nomination for Feature of the Year in a trade magazine. My love for history and biographies has taken me across Europe, fueling my interest in everything from the royal Tudors to the Roaring ’20s.

The center of the story revolves around Dorian, a young slave who is gambled away by his lord and is sold to Manius Bresus, an exceptionally cruel and sadistic man. He subjects Dorian to extreme pain and suffering. However, Dorian somehow finds a way to hold on to hope during the brutal violence he has to endure.
As Dorian’s life worsens with each passing day, he meets Josephus, who is a kindhearted noble Christian that treats Dorian with affection. Through their interactions, Dorian learns about living a life filled with faith, dignity, and redemption, something he has never experienced before. But overcoming his past is extremely challenging. While things seem hopeless, Dorian’s final chance to break free from the clutches of his violent reality and seek a better future lies in his ability to trust himself and embrace his untapped strength.
